Welcome to this week’s Golf Insider, everyone!
I must be having deja vu because didn’t we just recap a Hannah Green win last week?
Another tournament, another win for the Aussie. On Sunday, March 22, in Queensland, Australia, Green captured the 2026 Australian WPGA Championship for her third victory in three starts across the LPGA and LET. The win was also her second in a row in her home country.
Green powered to a 16-under-par tournament total, four strokes ahead of Alexandra Försterling and Casandra Alexander. She once again carded four sub-par rounds en route to the Karrie Webb Cup. Let’s take a look at her week.
In Thursday’s first round, Green posted a 6-under-par 65 to sit in second place overall. Her super clean round included six birdies and no bogeys. Green got off to another hot start, as her round was the second-best on the day and only by one stroke.
Green again carded the second-best score during the second round, where she shot a 67 (-4). That colorful round, which included six birdies, one eagle, one double bogey and two bogeys, boosted her into first place going into the weekend.
On Saturday, Green shot a 4-under-par 67 yet again, keeping her in the lead going into the final round. She posted seven birdies and three bogeys on the day. Despite the roller coaster scorecard, Green stayed consistent with yet another sub-par round. With the home crowd pressure, she had to deliver.
“I am obviously one of the poster girls [this week],” Green said in a post-round interview on March 21. “So I feel like there are some more pressures on myself. But I think I’ll use that to my advantage. Perhaps the other girls will also feel nervous. Everyone’s trying to win a trophy. Everyone wants it. So it’s going to be hopefully not too much of a grind tomorrow.”
Green just kept doing what she did all week—and all month—to close out the tournament. She shot a solid 2-under-par 69 in the final round to fend off Försterling, who shot one better than her (68). The gap was just too big to close, though, and Green went out with a bang with a 72nd hole birdie.
“I didn’t really know how I was going to perform this week, because in the past, when I have won, I haven’t come into tournaments with much form,” Green said in a post-win interview on March 22.
“I’ve kind of flown under the radar if anything and it’s hard to back up a win, especially at home after [the] Aussie Open. It was such a big week.”

With back-to-back wins in her home country, Green said it was a bit unreal. The feeling didn’t sink in until the final hole of the tournament. That just shows you how locked in she was.
“I think when I knew that I was going to win was when I actually hit it on the green on 18,” Green said. “That’s when I probably started to think about it more. I tried to just imagine that we still have more holes to play just so that I wasn’t fluffing around it, in a sense.”
Hannah has been playing some incredible golf lately. Her last 12 rounds have all been under par. And honestly, what a year it’s been for Australian women’s golf. Did the win at the 2025 Hanwha LIFEPLUS International Crown light a fire under the rest of the country? Aussies went 3-for-4 on the LET’s Australia swing. Green is on fire. Kelsey Bennett is third in the LET Order of Merit. Minjee Lee is searching for a career grand slam. Phew.
Green will get a much needed rest after her busy month, but the action isn’t done. The 2026 Ford Championship presented by Wild Horse Pass is up next on the LPGA Tour. See you next week, golf fans.

Five at The IX: Quotes from the 2026 Fortinet Founders Cup
The 2026 Fortinet Founders Cup at beautiful Sharon Heights Golf & Country Club had much to be desired. A unique course layout, a gorgeous week of weather in Menlo Park, California and a dramatic finish. Hyo Joo Kim took the title despite shooting 1-over-par in her final round. Finishing at 16-under-par for the tournament, she ended one stroke ahead of a surging Nelly Korda to hang on for the trophy. Korda shot a 3-under-par 69 in her final round, but she couldn’t quite catch Kim. Here are some quotes from post-tournament press conferences on Sunday, March 22.
2026 Fortinet Founders Cup champion Hyo Joo Kim on dialing her focus:
(Through translation.) “Honestly today wasn’t really about looking and focusing at other players. I was just so focused on playing well and my shots that weren’t playing well. So I don’t think I really had the luxury of even having my emotions spread out from other players.”
Kim on the highlights of her game:
“I think overall this week my putting went well. I just need to focus on making birdies and I think next week that will be the same thing as well. Just making sure I’m able to make birdies.”
Nelly Korda (T-2) on the final-round chase:
“Yeah, the front nine was great. Kind of battled a little bit more on the back nine. Wasn’t really kind of producing as much as I was on the front nine.
“Obviously something like 17 stings, so it is what it is. It’s golf. It’s a quick turnaround. There is next week, so just going to take all the positives.”
LPGA Tour rookie Carla Tejedo Mulet on recording a top-10 finish in her first ever LPGA tournament:
“Just crazy. You come without having expectations. I was just coming to have fun and do the best I can. Obviously having my parents here is a huge thing for me. They flew all the way from Spain.
“It’s been a really emotional and fun week. I haven’t done anything different. I’ve just been myself, and I think all the work that I’ve been doing in the offseason is working out; hopefully it keeps working.
“But I was coming into this week just mainly to have fun, see if I could get a good result, and maybe get into the next week.
“So hopefully I stay in that top 10 while they finish so I don’t have to play tomorrow morning in Phoenix. So just mainly about enjoying, and, yeah, I think it worked out pretty decent.”
Jin Hee Im on her performance that led to a top-5 finish:
“I think my iron shot getting better. That make more playing easy, but little—I think that putter is not like what I’m thinking.
“I feel hitting well but it’s not breaking that what I’m thinking like. But, yeah, I just keep positive and then just playing.”
