Smith begins the episode by referencing a recent article, written by The Ice Garden’s Melissa Burgess, on whether there too many Takeover games scheduled this season in the PWHL.
“When Melissa was talking about writing this article, I was one hundred percent on her side because I also had been feeling a little bit like there are too many games on this Takeover Tour,” Smith says, to which Turner adds:
“I wonder how it feels as a player…I’m so curious to know how it’s been on them. As a fan, that’s a whole other thing, I could imagine it’s been really difficult for players, and even staff, you’re just kind of all over the place and you feel like you haven’t really been home.”
They then discuss how both the Boston Fleet, Ottawa Charge, and New York Sirens are all having great seasons so far, whether the top shelf prediction from last episode came true, if the Vancouver Goldeneyes and Seattle Torrent will go on a run before the Olympic break and, lastly, the panic surrounding Team Canada’s Olympic roster.
