WoHo, I have questions! — So do you! — Must-click women's hockey links
(Hi! Howard Megdal here. The IX helps build the necessary infrastructure for women’s sports media. By connecting these worlds, it gives women’s sports the networking boost men’s sports can take for granted.
Those of you who are our satisfied subscribers, tell the world! We are grateful for your support. And you can share the gift of The IX with those who would love us as much as you do.
Our ask today: can you share The IX on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, and tag us? We don’t have a huge conglomerate behind us, so it’s up to you to help us spread the word! Thank you for making sure that whatever happens next, women’s sports coverage always has a home.)
WoHo, I have questions
Last week I ran through some NWHL and PWHPA updates. This week, I’m offering you my biggest questions for each group. In the coming weeks here at The IX Hockey Friday, I aim to get answers to all of these questions.
Here is my WoHo, what? list.
What will the 2021 season look like?
What is the PWHPA COVID-19 protocol? Who is making those decisions?
Did the PA host regional tryouts?
Where will the 5 regional teams practice?
What is the max each player can earn in the Secret Cup?
What is the status of players not listed on the regional rosters?
Will each regional hub have their own team colors/jersey design?
Updates from COVID-19 committee?
Players are being paid now, but what happens if the January start is delayed?
Was there a scenario where Dani Rylan could have remained commissioner under the new governance model?
Who are the six members of the Board of Governors?
What is the status of finding another four owners?
I have posed some of these questions to each respective league. I will offer updates when I can!
In the meantime, what are your most pressing questions?

Blake Bolden is the baddest, on periodt!
Bolden also featured by Because of Them We Can. I very personally relate to this. Other than my younger sister, nobody has made a bigger impact on my hockey journey.

Five at The IX: Amanda Kessel, Angela James, & Mandi Duhamel
This interview comes from the Her Game Rangers clinic I talked about a few weeks back. I moderated a few panels after this, so I was didn’t have the chance to take a good listen until recently. Kathryn Tappen, the moderator, also gave a fantastic keynote, check it out!
