The Corretta Scott King Classic featured four teams widely projected for the NCAA Tournament: TCU, Ohio State, Vanderbilt and Michigan. The hosts’ top storyline centered on four players poised to make major March impacts: TCU star Olivia Miles, Ohio State center Elsa Lemmilä, Vanderbilt forward Justine Pissott, and Michigan guard Brooke Daniels. While Miles remains a marquee name, the episode emphasized the importance of recognizing emerging contributors beyond the usual headliners.
The episode closed with a pivot to the WNBA, breaking down how the league released a schedule despite ongoing CBA negotiations—and why the prolonged stalemate impacts not just players and owners, but thousands of league employees.
“It is very much time for so many people involved to find a resolution here. And I say that not as, ‘It is time for the players to give more,’ or ‘It is time for the league to give more’ — but as people who care about this space, there is clearly going to be emerging and continuing negative ramifications the longer that this goes on. So it’s going to be really interesting,” Megdal said during the episode.
