Just in time for the SDHL season, the Swedish league announced how fans around the world can tune in to the games.

In Sweden, C More recently acquired the rights to a majority of the SDHL games for the 2020-21 and 2021-22 season, the league announced last week. โ€œIn total, just over 30 of 195 matches will be shown linearly on Sportkanalen and C More, and around 160 matches will be streamed on C More,โ€ according to the release.

โ€œIt feels very good that C More chooses to extend two more seasons and wants to continue being part of the journey SDHL has begun. That all matches can be seen is an important part of our strategy linked to interest in getting womenโ€™s hockey out wide and finding new target groups and stakeholders,โ€ said Angelica Lindeberg, commercial manager at SDHL, in the release.

Another 20 regular-season games and 10 of the playoff games, including the finals, will be on SVT, Swedenโ€™s national television broadcaster.

In addition, C More announced on Sept. 7 that SDHL and Swedish hockey legend Pernilla Winberg will be an โ€œexpertโ€ on the broadcasts. Winberg suffered a concussion last October and has not been able to play since.

โ€œIt feels good to be able to be around hockey as I myself can not play at the moment and at the same time also honored to be a part of the investment that C More makes on SDHL. C Moreโ€™s way of developing Swedish womenโ€™s hockey through its broadcasts means a lot to both the clubs and the players,โ€ she said on in the stationโ€™s release.

Fans outside of Sweden will be able to watch regular season games online through Sportsground. You can watch individual games for 99 Swedish Krona, or about $12 USD or $15 CAD. Thereโ€™s also an option to buy a season pass for 999 Swedish Krona, or about $114 USD or $150 CAD.

The league notes that the commentary will be in Swedish, and, if the games are being carried by SVT, there will be no commentary.

The puck drops on the SDHLโ€™s season on Sept. 12 with all 10 teams in action.
