On the latest episode of Locked On Women’s Basketball, Indiana Fever head coach Christie Sides sat down with host Howard Megdal to discuss, well, who might end up on her team with the No. 1 pick (Caitlin Clark, perhaps?).
“Look at the options that are out there [in the draft],” Christie said. “I mean, how exciting for the Fever and moving in a direction that we started last season and to keep moving in that upward trajectory.”
Then Christie and Howard discussed the challenging parts of Indiana’s 2023 WNBA campaign.
“Last year was was tough for the players, for my staff and all of us, just because there was so much that had to change,” Christie said. “And at the end of the day, like we had to focus on some things that were going to establish us for sustainable success, right? Like, you know, we want to win. I mean, good lord, you shouldn’t be doing this if you don’t want to win or don’t think you can win every game. And we believe we could. But we had to make sure we didn’t let things slide.”
Christie and Howard close out the episode by briefly previewing the strength of the NCAA Tournament bracket.
“There’s just some early games that are going to be just exciting to watch,” Christie said. Megdal, for his part, has the potential Louisville-LSU matchup circled.
