The 68 teams going dancing found out their NCAA Tournament seeds and placements on the Selection Sunday show on ESPN.
Thirty-two teams knew they were dancing, thanks to clinching their conferences’ automatic qualifying bids. Many of the 36 at-large teams knew their fates, but the women’s basketball selection committee still had plenty of tough calls to make.
To the surprise of absolutely no one, South Carolina was chosen as the No. 1 team in the nation, thanks to its second consecutive undefeated regular season. The Gamecocks will host the first two rounds in Columbia, S.C., before heading to the Albany 1 region.
Schedule-wise, there will be two First Four games on both Wednesday, March 20 and Thursday, March 21. Eight of the 16 host sites will host on Friday, March 22 and Sunday, March 24 while the other eight are on Saturday, March 23 and Monday, March 25.
Here is the rest of the field of 68, with each team’s seed as well as the locations for the first two rounds. The specific dates of each first round host site was not available at the time of publication.
