The Dallas Wings announced on Friday that they’ve hired veteran WNBA coach Curt Miller as general manager and executive vice president of basketball operations. The franchise promoted Travis Charles to assistant general manager and senior vice president and Jasmine Thomas to assistant general manager and vice president.

The potential of the Dallas Wings is immeasurable. With a new arena and practice facility on the horizon, a talented roster which is impactful both on the court and in the community, exciting positioning in the upcoming draft, a passionate and loyal fanbase, a fully invested ownership group, and a dedicated front office staff, now is the time for the Wings. As a veteran head coach and GM in the WNBA, I’m looking forward to bringing my experience, passion, and leadership to Texas while we strive to hang a WNBA Championship Banner in Dallas.”
The news comes after Miller’s departure from the Los Angeles Sparks, where he served as head coach for two years. Prior to this, the 2017 WNBA Executive of the Year and two-time Coach of the Year (2017, 2021), spent seven seasons with the Connecticut Sun as general manager and head coach. During his time with the Sun, he totaled a 126-66 record, the best among all WNBA teams between 2017-22, and went to the playoffs six consecutive times — appearing in the Finals twice (2019,2022). He ranks 11th in wins in league history and became the fifth fastest to reach 150 total wins.

Prior to his head coaching gigs, Miller was an assistant coach for the Sparks in 2015. Before joining the WNBA, he coached at Indiana University from 2012-2014 and Bowling Green State University from 2001-2012. While at BGSU, he won eight MAC regular seasons and five MAC tournament titles. In total, he won 290 games at the college level and 165 games at the professional. He joins Van Chancellor and Lin Dunn as the only coaches to win 250+ collegiate games and 150+ WNBA games.
As he steps into his new role, Miller’s first priority will be hiring the Wings’ new head coach while preparing for the WNBA Expansion Draft on Dec. 6. On Nov. 17, the league will learn it’s 2025 WNBA Draft positions during a live draft special on ESPN. Because of a previous pick-swap right with the Chicago Sky, the Wings have a great chance of selecting no lower than third overall in the draft.
