On the latest episode of Locked On Women’s Basketball, hosts Em Adler and Lincoln Shafer sit down with Eric Nemchock of Swish Appeal to discuss some prospective rankings and predictions for the 2025 WNBA draft.

Adler starts out the show by explaining the rules of the preseason draft board. For those who may not have seen it, it can be accessed here. “We have ranked 20, honestly 29 preseason players who could be drafted come April,” Adler explains, “as well as a few players to watch and one international draft in addition to those who are on the board.”

The hosts and Nemchock then discuss how this draft is different than years’ prior. “There’s definitely a lot more depth in this draft,” Nemchock says. “But at certain positions, right? I think there are a lot of lead guard prospects. There are a lot of big prospects, not a lot of winning prospects, at least not right now.”

Later on, after Adler, Shafer, and Nemchock make some preliminary predictions, they dive deeper into what makes a good prospect. “I really think that showing improvement over four seasons in college is important, and having some sort of consistent production,” Shafer says. And he wraps it up by sharing just how excited he is to watch all these players play some basketball.
