It’s time for another episode of the Locked on Women’s Basketball podcast. This episode features host Howard Megdal. It’s ACC women’s basketball media day and of course, The Next’s ACC reporter Mitchell Northam is on hand for the festivities. He joins Howard from inside the event to discuss all the hot topics in the ACC.
Mitchell talks about the excitement of the start of the NCAAW season:
“Yeah, it feels like it came around pretty quick. You know, we’re in football season. And I’m doing some freelance work covering that. And then all of a sudden, media days are here and then less than a month from now, we’ll have games. So yeah, it seems like it kind of came up on us pretty fast. And yeah, I’m excited. I got to see a lot of coaches and players here this morning and some of my colleagues. So yeah, it’s a good day here in Charlotte.”
Mitchell talks about UNC and how they will do this coming season:
“Yeah, I think UNC should be one of the teams that challenges for an ACC title this year. I think this league is more open this year than it has been in years past. And I think realistically, there’s probably five teams that could win the title.”
