It’s time for another episode of the Locked on Women’s Basketball podcast. This episode features host Howard Megdal and The Next’s Atlanta Dream beat reporter Gabriella Lewis to discuss Rhyne Howard and the Atlanta Dream, who are strong on and off the court.
Gabriella talks about the vibes inside the Gateway Center:
“Fun, immediately, even when I show up on a Tuesday night, which is notoriously not the most popping night, it’s gonna be a good time, whether it’s the team that’s gonna bring that energy or the attendance, the audience that brings that energy. And usually, it’s a mix of both.”
Gabriella talks about the difference between this 2022 Atlanta Dream team and last season:
“Yeah, I didn’t think I was gonna be covering any playoff. So I was like, Okay, so my job’s done in August, or early August, but it’s looking like it may not be that way, which is a great surprise. And you know, we’ll see things could go very many ways in the next couple of weeks. But, yeah, I think it’s a big surprise. And I think, like you said, that has everything to do with Tanisha Wright and Dan Padover, who I think have assembled a team that is really incredible.
And you have a lot of love in Atlanta is what I keep saying because the team really loves one another. And they work really well together.”
