Calgary Inferno defender and alternate captain Jacquie Pierri announced her retirement from the CWHL on Twitter yesterday evening.

Prior to the 2017-18 season, the stalwart defender had 10 points โ€” all assists โ€” in her first 95 regular season games. This year was a different story. The New Jersey native broke through with four goals and seven assists in 28 games for Calgary. Perhaps even more impressively, Pierri led her team with a +20 plus/minus.

We can safely say that the 27-year-old is retiring at the top of her game.

Pierri spent all five of her CWHL seasons in Calgary, which included a Clarkson Cup victory in 2016.
