It’s finally here! The podcast no one asked for and I was terrified to publish – it’s Mike talking to himself about women’s hockey while driving to the train station! I wanted to create some content for our paid subscribers and it doesn’t get much more behind-the-scenes and/or all-access than living with me in my head for 10 minutes at roughly 5:15 a.m.

If I sound distracted during the recording that is because I am self-conscious and also constantly on the lookout for deer, raccoons, and bunny rabbits on the road I take to the train station. These New Jersey streets be wild. Hopefully, this will still be a fun listen and not, y’know, awful.

In this first recording, I ramble about PWHL Boston’s season and their lackluster offense. I talk a lot about Hilary Knight likely ending the year with single-digit points and highlight just how good Alina Müller is. There’s also some talk about Hannah Brandt, the Sophie Jaques trade, Boston’s goaltending, and the starting six that had me so excited at the start of the season.

  • Some stats!
  • PWHL Boston has scored at least three goals once in its last 12 games and has six consecutive games scoring two goals or less.
  • Hilary Knight has five goals and four assists in 23 games.
  • Alina Müller, PWHL Boston’s top scorer, has 15 points in 23 games.
  • Hannah Brandt has five goals and three assists in 23 games.
  • PWHL Boston has a 7.7% power play and only four power-play goals.

Please note I may have gotten some stats wrong as I rattled them off on my drive but that is because I’m driving and sleep-deprived and weary of raccoon ambush.

Thank you for all of your support. Without you, there is no TIG.
