The stars of the PWHL will get the chance to shine even brighter this season, as the league’s first All-Star Game will take place on March 7, 2027, at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.
The announcement took place at the Hockey Hall of Fame on Thursday morning, with executive vice president of hockey operations and HHoF inductee Jayna Hefford, executive vice president of business operations Amy Scheer, PWHLPA president and Montréal Victoire alternate captain Laura Stacey, and HHoF president Jamie Dinsmore on hand.
“This will be a chance to see a lot of the league’s top players together on the same ice, and that’s what makes the All-Star Game so special: the players,” said Hefford. “The personalities, the competitiveness, the skill, and the opportunity to see these athletes in a different light, showcasing what they can do on the ice and giving fans the chance to get to know them beyond it.”
The All-Star Game will be formatted as a four-team, three-on-three round robin tournament, consisting of PWHL Canada, PWHL USA, PWHL International, and PWHL Rookies.
“We’re focused on building the weekend,” Scheer said. “We want to feature fun fan experiences, partner activations, and community impact work. We really want to show the breadth and depth of everything that the PWHL is all about.”

Players will be selected for the event through a combination of fan, media, and player voting. The teams will consist of six forwards, three defenders, and a goaltender apiece, for a total of 40 PWHL All-Stars across the league. Further details will be announced closer to March, per Scheer, but the event will not feature a skills competition.
