NWHL

  • Jonna Curtis scored the lone goal for the Minnesota Whitecaps โ€” a power play goal โ€” in their 5-1 defeat at the hands of the Minnesota Golden Gophers. She had two of the Whitecapsโ€™ 12 shots in the game. Amanda Boulier and Gophers alumna Nicole Schammel picked up the assists on Curtisโ€™ goal.
  • The Golden Gophers out-shot the Whitecaps 57 to 12 and were able to prevent the pros from scoring at even strength. Itโ€™s worth noting that the Whitecaps got on the board first before the Gophers scored five straight goals, including a goal with just three seconds left in regulation.
  • Whitecaps star goaltender Amanda Leveille finished the game with a .912 save percentage. All five of the goals she allowed were scored at even strength.
  • Taylor Heise was named the first star of the game. She buried two goals and picked up a primary assist on Grace Zumwinkleโ€™s second period goal. Zumwinkle nearly out-shot the entire Whitecapsโ€™ team; she finished with 10 shots on goal in addition to picking up a primary assist./

PWHPA

  • Team Poulin smoked Team Jenner by a score of 5-1 to win the PWHPAโ€™s first weekend showcase of the Dream Gap Tour. Mรฉlodie Daoust and Laura Stacey both had two-goal games for Team Poulin in the victory.
  • The standout performance of the PHWPAโ€™s weekend of hockey likely belonged to Blayre Turnbull, who had a hat trick in Team Johnstonโ€™s 6-5 shootout win over Team Knox. Turnbullโ€™s third goal of the game was the game-tying goal, which set the stage for Johnston to win the game in the shootout./

  • Turnbull had two two-goal games with the Calgary Inferno in the 2018-19 CWHL season. She had her first multi-goal game as a pro on Feb. 20, 2016 against the Brampton Thunder./

SDHL

  • Through three games, Lara Stalder has scored seven goals and earned two assists for Brynรคs IF. Sheโ€™s two goals ahead of HV71โ€™s Sanni Hakala, who is one of three players tied in second in scoring in the SDHL with six points in four games.
  • Luleรฅ HF goaltender Sara Grahn has now played 120 minutes of hockey without allowing a goal. Sheโ€™s stopped 37 total shots to earn two shutouts. Last season, seven of Grahnโ€™s 22 wins were shutouts.
  • Through three games, Leksands IF is averaging 4.0 GA/GP at 5-on-5. Leksands has scored four goals of their own at 5-on-5 and one goal at 4-on-4. Thus far, theyโ€™re in the red with a -10 goal differential.
  • HV71โ€™s Hanna Olsson is averaging 5.0 SOG/GP. She has three goals and three assists in four games; three of her six points have been scored on the power play./

ZhHL

  • Rachel Llanes had three primary points in the Shenzhen KRS Vanke Raysโ€™ 4-3 shootout victory over SKIF. Together, Llanes and Alex Carpenter have combined for six of Shenzhenโ€™s seven goals through the first four games of ZhHL season. Carpenter is now averaging 8.25 SOG/GP./

  • SK Gornyโ€™s Fanuza Kadirova has begun the season with a four-game scoring streak, amassing a total of nine points. Kadirova has had a hand in 47.36 percent of SK Gornyโ€™s goals thus far. Sheโ€™s currently the ZhHLโ€™s leading scorer.
  • HK Tornadoโ€™s Anna Shokhina has scored two goals on 29 shots in her first four games of the 2019-20 season. At this time last year, she had two goals on 14 shots.
  • Goaltender Yelizaveta Kondakova, 22, earned an 18-save โ€” including five saves on Valeria Pavlova โ€” shutout for HK Tornado against Biryusa on Sept. 18. It was the third shutout of her ZhHL career and first since Dec. 4, 2016. /
