After an exciting start to the SDHL season, weโ€™re extremely excited to introduce our SDHL Game of the Week! Each week weโ€™ll feature a game (or sometimes two or three) we think will be fun, exciting, impactful, great, or all of the above.

This week, we have two games to keep an eye on.

Saturday at 17:30 in Sweden (11:30 a.m. eastern) – SDE v Brynรคs

Both teams currently sit at a win apiece, with SDE also having one loss.

Brynรคs piled on the goals in their first outing scoring seven goals from seven different players, and are a fun and fast team to watch. Looking to stop the depth of Brynรคs though is SDE goaltender Lindsay Post. In her teamโ€™s first game of the season she stopped all 52 shots she saw and in the second she stopped 42 of 43 shots. Thatโ€™s a total of 95 saves, which is beyond impressive for Post, but not as a great of a look for SDEโ€™s defense.

On the opposite end, SDEโ€™s offensive is solid. They could afford to take more shots as they only took 53 over the two games, especially considering Brynรคs weakest spot is their goaltending.

Dam Good: Luleaโ€™s Jenni Hiirikoski starts off scoring

Both of these teams play on Saturday, but if they both win those, theyโ€™ll both come in undefeated. Either way, itโ€™s bound to be an exciting game between two of the top teams in the SDHL.

In their first game, Luleรฅ has a 2019-20 finals rematch against HV71 and was dominated in their 4-0 win. They controlled the game, and the puck, and looked great. They put up against 7 goals in their second game against Gรถteborg. In total they scored 11 goals from seven different players over two games, a huge spread in their offense. Goaltender Sara Grahn stopped all 33 shots she saw over the weekend as well.

Grahn will need to look sharp again as Linkรถping took a ton of shots (83) in their first two games. However, they only scored on four of those. They have a ton of momentum going into this game after their quite literal last minute victory of AIK in their first game and holding on to a 1-0 lead for almost the entire game Sunday. Theyโ€™re a strong team and this game will be a must watch.
