BOSTON — Inside TD Garden Arena on Tuesday night, the harmony of “Sweet Caroline” rang through the air, traveling from the rafters to the stands, as thousands of fans sang in unison. The beloved tune is often played at sporting events in Boston, including Fenway Park, and typically marks a moment where fans can bask in the joy of rooting for their home team together.

While the Connecticut Sun call Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville home, they were also celebrated as Boston’s team when the franchise suited up against the Los Angeles Sparks for their final game in the city. Members of both of the Boston’s professional women’s sports teams — the Boston Fleet and the Boston Legacy FC — were also in attendance.
