On the latest episode of Locked On Women’s Basketball, host Howard Megdal sat down with Maddy Siegrist of the Dallas Wings, who seems to be doing just about everything these days. In addition to gearing up for her third season in Texas, she’s an Athletes Unlimited champion and a Villanova coach. Megdal and Siegrist discuss all of that, and more.
Megdal starts the show by asking Siegrist the obvious question โ how does she make time for all of her commitments? “Angel Reese always says that you got 24 hours in your day, so you gotta maximize it,” Siegrist says. “So, just trying to maximize everything. And, you know, take advantage of all the opportunities.”
Later on, Megdal asks Siegrist about her growing role with the Dallas Wings, as well as the changes that have come to the franchise. “I’m super excited,” Siegrist says. “I think we got a great new team vibe that seems, you know, you could just feel it. … We have a lot of great pieces, a lot of great players that I can’t wait to play with.”
Megdal also asks Siegrist about how her confidence has grown in her years both in the WNBA and as a coach. “I think from year one to year two I definitely had a shift in mindset,” Siegrist says. “Year two, it’s like, I’m supposed to be here, I’m here for a reason.”
