For the first time, Tobin Heath and Christen Press are totally in charge. No one is scheduling their day, no one is telling them what to wear, and they are loving it.
โWeโve been having the year of celebration,โ Press told The IX Soccer in a call this November. โI think everything should be celebrated, and I somehow convinced my wife to oblige me, and weโve been partying our little butts off.โ
And they have had plenty of reasons.
Heath officially retired from professional soccer in July of 2025 with two World Cup titles, two Olympic gold medals and a bronze medal from her time with the USWNT. Press, another two-time World Cup champion, followed shortly after in October.
Then, in November, the National Soccer Hall of Fame announced Heath as part of its 2026 class. She is set to be inducted in May.
โTobin had to overshadow me,โ Press quipped.
โThat was a big surprise,โ Heath replied.

Heath and Press both had their careers cut short by lingering injuries, but havenโt strayed far from the game. In fact, they seem to have turned that energy and passion into pushing womenโs soccer forward through their global sports media brand RE-INC.
Through RE, soccerโs favorite hyper-competitive power couple has created an award-winning podcast in the RE-CAP Show, and a steadily-growing community of reimaginers who share their vision.
โI think the ecosystem around us looked like a drummer that we didnโt really resonate with,โ Heath said. โAll of our business have come out of just the frustrations that we had as athletes and instead of being frustrated and bitter, we were like, letโs just build and create.โ
As of January 9, 2026, The RE-CAP Show has more than 55,000 subscribers and nearly eight million views on YouTube alone. Through RE, they also host watch-alongs, sharing both their experience and insight with fans around the world.
โI just love the womenโs soccer community and I feel so connected because of the way that as a player the fans shaped my life,โ Press told The IX Soccer. โThey brought me to L.A., they brought me back when I missed a penalty. They have just been with me and shaped so much of me that it feels like, what a beautiful thing that I get to galvanize this community now.โ
Your business can reach women’s sports fans who share your passion!
Here at The IX Sports, our audience is a collection of the smartest, most passionate women’s sports fans in the world. If your business has a mission to serve these fans, you should reach out to our team at BAlarie@theixsports.com to discuss ways to work together in 2026.
So, whatโs next for soccerโs favorite power couple?
Another celebration, of course. This one courtesy of the USWNT, who will honor Heath before its March 7 match against Colombia at Sports Illustrated Stadium.
And then? Back to work, continuing to build RE in their unique vision with their trusty pup Bob.
โThe way we show up for this community isnโt just directly to the community,โ Press said. โItโs by inspiring our peers and inspiring owners. Inspiring teams to continue to redefine and reimagine this space.โ
